Ruhrorter

The RUHRORTER group can now look back on eleven years of artistic work on the topics of migration, flight, administration and law. Initially conceived as a theater project, RUHRORTER gradually combined more and more elements of theater, film, radio play and installation to create space for the post-migrant realities in Mülheim an der Ruhr and the Ruhr region.

The specific approaches differ from project to project. However, all works have a political and formal aspiration in common. We do not want to reduce art with refugees to authenticity and documented biographies, but rather expand it to include the artistic dimension and the political role of fiction.
