The Dokumentationszentrum und Museum über die Migration in Deutschland (DOMiD) (English Translation: Documentation Centre and Museum on Migration in Germany ) was founded by migrants in 1990 and, according to DOMiD itself, has the largest collection of objects and testimonies documenting the diverse history of migration in Germany in Germany. The DOMiD conducts research and publishes on various topics.
In addition, the DOMiD organises numerous exhibitions on the topics of migration, migration history(s) and migration society. Since its foundation, the DOMiD has played an important role in the context of a culture of remembrance in the migration society. The aim is to establish the multifaceted history of migration in societal discourses and in official historical narratives.
